April 6, 1904	Okayama Women's School of Practice founded by Eigen Shirasaka and 21 other founders for the purpose of providing practical education for women
October 18,1910	Okayama Women's School of Practice changed to Shujitsu Women's High School
March 31, 1947	Establishment of Okayama Prefecture, Shujitsu Junior High School authorized
April 1, 1948	Establishment of Okayama Prefecture, Shujitsu High School authorized
March 6, 1951	Endowment act to School Corporation, Okayama Prefecture, Shujitsu Gakuen authorized
April 1, 1953	Okayama Shujitsu Junior College founded (Department of Home Economics)
April 1, 1965	Department of Preschool Education added to the Junior College
April 1, 1979	Shujitsu Women's University established (Faculty of Literature, Department of Japanese Literature, Department of English/American Literature)
April 1, 1985	Department of History added to the Faculty of Literature of the University
April 1, 1990	Junior College, Department of Home Economics, Living Culture Major reorganized as Department of Living Culture
April 1, 1999	Shujitsu Women's University, Graduate School established (School of Literature, Master's Program, Japanese Language and Japanese Literature Major, English Language, English/American Literature Major, History Major)
April 1, 2000	Junior College, Department of Living Culture reorganized into Department of Culture and Communication
April 1, 2003	Shujitsu Women's University changed to Shujitsu University. Faculty of Literature changed to the Faculty of Human Studies Department of Japanese Literature changed to the Department of Culture and Expression. Department of English/American Literature changed to the Department of Practical English. Department of History changed to the Department of Comprehensive History. School of Pharmacy established (Department of Biological Pharmacy, Department of Clinical Pharmacy)
April 1, 2007	Department of Elementary Education added to the Faculty of Human Studies
April 1, 2011	Elementary Education Major added to the Graduate School, School of Human Studies Faculty of Education established (Department of Elementary Education, Department of Educational Psychology)
April 1, 2012	Authorized Kodomo-en, Shujitsu Kodomo-en established (Shujitsu University, Shujitsu Junior College Affiliated Kindergarten/Nursery School) School of Clinical Pharmacy added to the Graduate School (Doctoral Program)
April 1, 2014	Faculty of Business Administration added to Shujitsu University
April 1, 2015	Shujitsu Elementary School established School of Education added to the Graduate School (Master's Program)
