President’s Message

Shujitsu University and Junior College are conveniently located in the city of Okayama, at an important crossroads between the Chugoku and Shikoku regions. Shujitsu University, a comprehensive educational institution at the center of a region with a long and distinguished history and strong traditions, celebrated its 110th anniversary in 2014. The university includes a Faculty of Human Studies, a School of Pharmacy, a Faculty of Education, a Faculty of Business Administration , three graduate schools and a junior college. It has an active and studious student body of approximately 3,000 graduate, university, college and international students. Our educational goals are codified in the phrase “Developing capable and talented individuals”. Faculty and staff members cooperate and make intense efforts to develop self-directed individuals with the practical skills to make proper judgments, and the ability to take appropriate action in regard to the various circumstances they encounter. Concretely speaking, as an institution of higher learning, we carry out educational activities based on a rigorous diploma and curriculum policy, and attempt to sustain the highest level of student satisfaction through comprehensive student support services. Our overall goals also include making great efforts toward the promotion of robust basic research and its wide dissemination for the betterment of society as a whole.
